  • Only one family allowed in the bathroom at a time

  • No toys provided at the baby pool

Here's what's the same:

  • Seeing your neighbors and friends (at a distance!)

  • Having a great time cooling off in the water!

  • Being kind and respectful of our hard working (even harder working this year!) guards and staff

In detail:

Virginia’s COVID-19 reopening plan requires us to follow certain requirements and restrictions. The pool rules for the 2020 season look a little bit different as a result! Members must follow these rules or will be subject to removal from the pool and/or suspension from membership. Please be patient and respectful of other members and the staff, so that we may all enjoy the pool this summer!

1) Pool Access and Hours: Pool access is determined by how many members can fit in the facility while still safely and lawfully distancing between family groups.

  • There are 22 spots on the main deck, including 8 picnic tables, and 2 spots at the baby pool.

  • No one under the age of 13 may come to the pool unaccompanied.

  • Babysitters and other approved guests may bring children to the pool in a family group.

  • The pool will be open M-Sa 10:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m., and Sunday 12:00 -7:00 p.m.

  • To ensure all members who want to can come, and to comply with cleaning requirements, the pool will be open for 2-hour time slots.

  • Each 2-hour slot will include check-in and exit time, to allow the guards 30 minutes between slots for cleaning.

  • There will be no Adult Swims called this year. There will be a 15-minute warning whistle before members must exit.

  • In between slots, lifeguard will clean, disinfect common touch points, and check chlorine levels.

  • You must sign up for a slot using Signup Genius, which will open at noon the day before.

  • You may only sign up for one slot per day. If there are open slots as of 8:00 a.m., you may sign up for an additional slot that day.

  • If you sign up for two back-to-back slots, you must exit the pool facility and re-enter for the next slot.

2) Check-In Procedures:

  • The first time you enter the pool facility this season each adult member will sign a waiver.

  • You must also list all children or individuals you are responsible for on the waiver. Each time you enter the pool you must answer state-mandated screening questions.

  • You must stay distanced from others during the check-in process.

  • WPCA will mark off spaces in the parking lot for check-in. You must show your ID upon request.

  • If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, you may not enter the pool facility.

3) Deck Furniture:

  • There will be no deck chairs or tables provided this year. You may bring your own, so long as they fit in the spot.

  • Umbrellas will be available at some spots on the deck. There will be no toys provided at the baby pool.

4) Food and Drink:

  • The Snack Bar will be closed this year.

  • There will be no water/ice jug or trash cans provided.

  • You may bring your own food and drink but must remove all trash.

  • Consistent with other years, no alcohol is permitted.

5) Bathrooms:

  • Bathrooms will be available but limited to one family at a time.

  • Bathrooms will be cleaned and disinfected between the 2-hour time slots.

6) Social Distancing:

  • Free swim is allowed, but staff will be enforcing social distancing both in and out of the water.

  • The diving board will be open for business, but you must remain distanced in the line. Spots will be marked – please help your children follow these guidelines.

  • Additionally, we will not have the basketball hoop this year and playing catch is not allowed, given the distancing requirements.

  • No running on the deck, no diving outside the well, and no horseplay.
